The Poster

This geographic information poster visualizes the massive boom of cosmetic plastic surgeries worldwide. The challenge of the project was to call critical attention on this topic but in a non-judgmental visual language. Besides e.g. type and number of procedures in the different countries, the poster delivers further information about age groups, gender of the patients and average costs. Furthermore, an own icon-language was developed to show the procedures. The poster has a format of 1500 x 1000 mm.

As a result of that, the industry of cosmetic plastic surgery is constantly growing. In the beginning reserved to the glamour world of hollywood cosmetic plastic surgeries are becoming more and more part of every social class and age group. Botox parties and lunch break injections…

The Research

In addition to the research on statistical surveys which were provided by organizations like ISAPS (The International Society Of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery) → and IPRAS (The International Confederation for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery) →, one focus of the project was the investigation of the operation methodologies.
